Wife (also non-smoker) and I just flew home from Canada yesterday after
6 weeks, everywhere east of Toronto. No problem smoking outdoors
anywhere where not expressly prohibited was my experience. Some
restaurants ask "Smoking or non-smoking" but I observed very little
indoor smoking. Quebec has a smoking reputation and it seemed there was
more there. But, in general, things seemed to be quite like our home
(California).
Cost of pipe tobacco (and cigarettes I suppose) is high (double or more
what I'm used to paying). You and I are clearly out of fashion. I don't
have to smoke, just like to, and don't encourage anyone to start.---Ken
