Default Maritime provinces - best places to visit

Hi I live on the west coast. I have never been back east. I will have the
opportunity this summer to spend about a month there. I am a sixty-ish
widower, likes to walk, relatively healthy.

I would like to visit Nova Scotia, Newfoundland-Labrador and New Brunswick.
I know very little about these areas so would like to put my time to good
use. I do not care for large cities. I probably would fly east first then
travel by rental car, bus or what have you.

Any suggestions on a route I could take and places I should visit to make
the most of my stay there.

Graham

check into the ferry for newfoundland, you may have to book a year in
advance to get on it.

the cabot trail in n.s. is very scenic, peggy's cove is another great
tourist trap with a light house and you can walk around a bit on the rocks
by the sea.

you may want to take in p.e.i. while you are there, you can drive over the
new bridge or take the ferry from n.s. (easy to get on). nice long sand
beaches.

I can recommend Prince Edward Island. It's small, it's beautiful, the
weather and water are warm - and so are the people. A car is required,
as there is not much in the way of public transit. Or you can seek out
1- or 2- day bus tours.

Remember, it's the home of Confederation, and you can soak up lots of
history. Music and theatre are popular in the summer, and so is that
little red-haired girl.

If you have an allergy to shellfish, don't go -- eating lobster is
compulsory, and they won't let you off the Island unless your shirt is
decorated with evidence of lemon butter, potato salad and fresh fruit
pie ...
