Default Car trip: Vancouver -> Calgary

Hi NG,

we want to do a round trip from vancouver to calgary at the beginning of
September.
1) We are looking for a cheap car rental. I tried Enterprise rent-a-car, but
they don't offer one-way trips. Now we need a hint for (good) cheap car
rental agency.
2) We want to spend some days at vencouver and some days at Tofino, Jasper,
Lake Louise, Banff. The Problem is, that Tofino is on the wrong site of
b.c. I tried to arrange a trip to the national parks at alberta, but I
think I have still not the best solution.
Our schedule:
1. germany -> vancouver
2. + 3. vancouver
4. -> Tofino
5 Tofino
6. -> Vancouver -> ???

I still looking for nice destinations for the 6-12 day.

Route 1: Port Hardy -> Prince Ruppert -> Stewart
- Nice, but a) Expansive, b) a lot of miles for few highlights.

Route 2: -> back zu Vancouver -> Whistler -> Lillooet -> Lytton (Fraser
Lake) -> Kamloops -> Clearwater (Wells Gray Park) -> Valemont -> Mt. Robson

Route 3: -> back zu Vancouver -> Hope -> Fraser Lake -> Kelowa -> ??

13. Jasper
14 Jasper (Day trip to Yoho)
15. -> Lake Louise
16. Lake Louise
17. Lake Louise
18 -> Icefield Parkways -> Banff
19. Banff
20. Banff -> Calgary
21. Calgary
22 -> germany

Any suggestions? :-)

Oliver

An excellent bit of advice, Keith. We have just returned to the UK from a
most fantastic journey in BC.
However, it is best to steady your nerves for 'The Hill' as it is quite an
experince!
Can I suggest you check out the BC Ferries site as it is excellent and will
help you plan your trip. Also Beautiful BC is a great site for information.
Whatever you do, I can guarantee you will have a wonderful trip.
Regards
Leaf

Hi Geoff.
I was almost too old to *drive* up The Hill in BC! And I certainly aged a
few years *as* I drove up it!

Both my husband and I vowed the only way to get out from Bella Coola again
would be the ferry back to Port Hardy! I sure as sugar would not attempt the
downhill journey!
Saying that, after we got Anahim Lake, I felt like I was a god! I still
reckon they should have badges at the 'top' to say you *did* it!
