Vancouver Hotels - Sandman Hotel - Comments?

Hello All!

There have been some good questions and responses regarding places to
stay in Vancouver. I will be there in June and have a tentative
itineray to stay at the Sandman Hotel - Downtown. Any input about this
hotel or others in the same price range that have refrigerators and
microwaves in the rooms? It was not on the Fodor's site that was
mentioned in another post.

Also, we would like to take a 2-3 day trip to Whistler. Is there any
public transportation between Vancouver and Whistler? Or, would renting
a car be better? I have found a condo that is on the bus route, but not
very close to downtown. Do the buses run regularly in the summer?

I was very disappointed with the Sandman downtown. The room was horrible. I
paid 20 extra a night and was able to stay at the hotel Georgia. Which is
down the street a couple of blocks and much much nicer. It is right across
from the museum.
