Default Vancouver Is. - Whale Watching

I am travelling to Vancouver Island in early July. Is that a reasonable time
of year for whale watching, or is that activity best conducted during Spring
and Fall?

If that is a good time to go, any suggestions as to a good tour company?

Search on <vancouver island whale watching> produces thousands of hits.

Best bets for mid-summer are around Victoria, Sooke, Ucluelet-Tofino and
Port McNeill-Alert Bay-Port Hardy.
