That's all fine and well when the train is lightly loaded, but how do you
get a carload of passengers into the adjacent car in a jam packed peak hour
train? And quickly too in the event of a fire?

Maybe, but the Coroner usually does not take that view, nor insurance
companies.

Oh for the days when suburban lines weren't fenced, and anyone who
liked could take themselves out of the evolutionary running whenever
