Gee, if that was the case, then the coal companies could afford to fund
the upgrade from the increased profits they would make.

Sort of what I was wondering.

Exactly what part of the line is old line and what part is new line?
would that be from Ulan to Merriwa?


Also loved the bit where it said five signal boxes caused six hours
delay. How? It didn't take anywhere near that long on the old Ghan work
trains. 5-10 minutes at most.

In any case, I think they also have a problem at Newcastle in that they
do not have enough facilities for loading extra ships or heap space for
storage. It would just lead to worsening conditions for mine workers.
