Quite, given that not one sod has been turned of Bracks government's
program of gauge standardisation, announced in May 2001 under the
spectacularly premature headline "Bracks Govt Ends 120 Years of
Different Rail Gauges". Under the 2001 timeline, the program was to
have been finished by the end of last year.

We're now up to 125 years and counting.

I wonder how many of the promises in Wednesday's grand transport
statement will ever actually happen? This govt. is great on the words,
not so good on actually doing anything!
