Default Squaters being cleared from the PNR South Line.

As discussed in another thread, work is underrway to remove all of the
illegal houses along the Manila-Legaspi main line, in the Manila
region. The line will be rebuilt as double track, and fenced.

A rail tour from Manila to Legaspi will be booked for a date to be
announced. I hope that it will be a daylight tour, ovrer three or four
days. In a few years time, I would like to see regular daylight toure
run either by the PNR or a private tour operator.

It certainly sounds like it.

Hmm - underway?

How long does it take to fit a snow plow to a locomotive, and then run
it along the track?

Sylvia.

Oh yes... so how do you suggest that this eradication program be achieved?
From your words, it sounds so simple, get rid of the illegal housing and the
desease and poverty go away. Have you considered that they may be in
'illegal housing' because they are poor?!

Not a clue.

Flying Frog: You are right, you don't have a clue!

The government in the Philippines can resettle the people from the
illegal houses near the PNR, in another region. Unlike counties such as
China, the Philippines will at least help people who are forced to
move, to to railway or highway projects.

Now, as this topic has been discussed enough, I will no longer reply to
people posting further comments on the matter.
