Geeze that makes me angry, I am sick of these pointless re-namings. The
last one that really gave me the irks was the national tennis centre,
Flinders Park, being renamed to Melbourne Park, just so we could MAYBY earn
a couple of extra tourist dollars. I don't hear Flushing meadows becoming
New York Park, Roland Garros becoming Paris Park (make that Parc de Paris)
or Wimbledon becoming London Park.

Arrrrrrrrrrrrggggggggggggg!

I guess sometimes its acceptable, I do prefer the "Monash Freeway" rather
than the "South Eastern Arterial", however, I still find my self calling it
the South Eastern.

Danny.

I never refer to major roads by their "name" as names change... ie)
the Monash Fwy becomes the Princes Fwy, Calder Hwy becomes the Silver
City Hwy etc....

I use their Numbers, M1/A1 and M79/A79/79 respectively. The numbers
don't change so it's far easier to follw a route number.

For example take the A8->M8 turn right onto M80, take the left ramp
onto M1 -> A1 are all the directions you need to get from Tailem Bend
SA to Bairnsdale Vic.

Dave.
