Yes, I tend to agree with you, although it is worth noting that one of
the first commercial, public showings of a motion picture - which was
also the work of the Lumiere brothers - was footage of a steam
hauled train arriving at a station in Paris. And I have seen some
Autochromes held by the museum at Saint-Mandé, that showed tramways in
Paris, and other French cities. So, maybe there are some train photos in
existence - one can always hope!
