Default Is shopping good value at the moment

About to spend a few weeks in Queensland (from UK) and will be spending
a couple of days in the Gold Coast to recover from the flight

I was wondering if shopping is value for money compared to the UK say
casual clothes footwear etc and whether there are any particular items
to search out eg Hi tech stuff etc

Also am I right in thinking that power reqts for items match the UK

Thanks

Mike

You might find clothing quite a bit cheaper than that available in the UK -
we have a lot of cheap imports.
Although the power requirements would match the UK in most cases, you
shouldn't bother searching out high tech stuff in my opinion. You've got to
cart it half way round the world, and you may find warranty problems if it
plays up, or find parts aren't available for that model if you need to get
it fixed in your home country.
