Buying a car in central Sydney Yes NRMA will come to you and test on site for a fee. How long do you
intend on keeping the car?
Some cheaper yards will do guarenteed buybacks if kept in good nick, albeit
at a greatly reduced price you are guarenteed a sale. When I enquired for a
travelling friend from NZ a Brisbane yard quoted me a sale price of $2500
for a 85 Mazda 626 with a guarenteed buyback of $800 after 6 months. Not bad
really seeing as he had to wantentee it unconditionally for the first
month.Try hire a car for that long for $1700. He also said that he would
pay up to $1200 if it was in just as good a condition as when sold.
Theres a public car park that has backpackers and travellers selling their
cars that they may have had up to a year. Usually get a bargain there if
you willing to wait for one. We waited till a couple that was selling an XE
wagon was getting strapped for cash and I could see that it was in good
condition under the road grime.
Bought it for $3000 when it was selling in Tradepost for similar cars at
$4000. Ended up selling it a year later for $3300 so made money
surprisingly.
Beware that some come with VERY dodgey roadworthies so go in with very wide
eyes. and if your intending on selling back in the same state make sure you
dont buy one with out of state plates.
Located at Gazebo end of Kings cross from memory (was a while ago) but
freinds say that it was there last year going fine.
Hope that helps.
