Hi aussietravelguy,
Yeah - that could work. You can do a circuit with Botanical Gardens - Qld Institute of Tech - Goodwill Pedestrian Bridge - Maritime Museum (if seatravel history takes your fancy) - South Bank Parklands (food here high priced) - Cultural Centre ("Art of Picasso" currently on show) - QLD Museum - Victoria Bridge - return to City Mall. (There are actually guided walking tours available)
There are high-speed ferry passenger craft, called 'Citycats', on which you can cruise the River. The Kookaburra River Queen paddle-wheeler, but that'd take more time! google 'frommers+Brisbane+destinations' (I'm prevented from posting actual web Urls)
The Bus stations in city centre are underground. Two city train stations: Roma St & Central. Two rail stations in South Bank, where there are also elevated bus stations ('Busway'). Train travel can be novel if you havn't experienced narrow-gauge electric passenger travel before! The 'Busway' could be interesting if you havn't traveled on a separate bus corridor before! google "TransLink busways" for information.
Unfortunately, you can't see a lot in less than a day. |
