Default beaches and tides on Dunk island

Hi,
has anyone experienced Dunk Island's beaches at low-tide ?
I read from multiple sources (and some reputable travel guides) that
some of the beaches there can become quite muddy and even smelly when
tide is out.
cheers. Francesco

Dunk is 17º56'54.84" S and 146º09'32.62" E if you wish to have a look on
Google Earth.

There is a photograph there taken late in the afternoon looking (roughly)
East.

It looks like low tide to me and the people standing in the water don't seem
to be suffering.

Incidentally, that photo is one of the better ones you'll see on the web.

We didn't find Dunk (about 1988) beaches much different from anywhere else
on the North Queensland coast.

If Dunk doesn't suite you then try Lizard Island resort further North.
