Chiang Mai is a fun town...I'd recommend spending two days just walking around
& checking out the Wats...They are much different than the ones in Bangkok.
Spend one night shopping at the Night Market.
There is no shortage of trekking companies...you can wait until you're in town
to shop around.
Don't settle for a big group. A lot of guides offer one on one package which
is great.
If you get adventurous, rent a motorbike & zip around the outskirts of
town...Chaing Rai is supposed to be fantastic too..however, i didnt have time
when in town...It makes an easy day trip.
