visa to laos from thailand

hi all, just to inform that you can get a laotian visa at the international
border between laos and thailand. a visa at nongkhai in front of vientiane
will cost you 31 usd and 2 ID photos.

I also hear through the grapevine that you can also get it at the border Chiang Khong to do the slowboat. You still need it in advance for the Chong Mek crossing from Thailand. If flying, Vietianne and Luang Prabang airports give one on arrival. You need 2 passport photos. $30 US at the airports.

You can also easily get one in Bangkok at the
embassy/consulate.
