Meeting Place at Singapore Changi Airport

Hello,
I was wondering if someone could tell me a good meeting place at the
Singapore Changi Airport. I will be flying into Terminal 1 and I was
wondering if visitors are allowed to go directly to the gates to pick
up passengers. If not, can someone tell me about a suitable place that
I and my pickup wont miss?

If someone local is to pick you up, they should know that (or will soon find
out when they get to arriving passengers at terminal 1) that everyone exits
from customs. No one is allowed to pick up directly from the gates.

They're not allowed to go to the gate, that's in the Immigration
controlled area. After you clear Immigration and pick up your bags you
go out the door into a large hall where they can meet you.
