Flight bargains LA to Bangkok?

Anyone do any price comparisons for flights to Thailand this month? I
am going from Los Angeles to Bangkok toward the end of July, I am
seeing quotes in the upper $500/lower $600 range. A friend got a Japan
Air flight on the 28th for $595 plus tax. Seems like the cutrate fares
of last month (Northwest, $400 r/t) are over. Any recommendations?

LAX-BKK is $550 plus tax. (~$620) on EVA airlines or China Airlines.
This is the best I know of right now. Of those two China airlines
crashes all the time and EVA airlines hasn't crashed yet. I just
returned from BKK on EVA. You are correct the super good deals seem
to have ended, though $620 is still pretty damn cheap.
