| | Guest | If You Are Obese and Unable To Use Lavatory Should You FLy I am retired from a major carrier and we had an obese woman fly from
west coast to east. She was too large to fit into the lavatory and she
attempted to relieve herself in the airsick bag. IMHO this woman should
have been denied boarding! What are your thoughts?

we need one that people have to be able to fit through as well:
Too Fat ? Amtrack

Somehow, this doesn't compute. I don't know the width of the lav door, but
it seems that if someone can't fit through the door, they shouldn't be able
to fit between the seat rows, even if two seats were purchased.

Since she was seated on the aircraft it means she did make it down at least one aisle. But for all we know it might have been the first class section on a wide body aircraft.
All the same, making it through the lavatory doors seems to have been the choke point. So I agree with Carol. She should have been denied boarding.
Cheers! -- Rik

What about and emergency evacuation. If the abose pax was seated near
the exit it could spell disaster for more agile pax trying to get past.
