Default Two airline legs with a rental care in between: Best way to book?

I'm planning a trip for four:

CID-->LAX by air
LA--> San Francisco--> Sequoia National Park--> Fresno by rental car
FAT--> CID by air

Is there any better (i.e., cheaper) way to book this than just two one-
way air trips and a car rental?

TIA

This routing is what is called an open jaw and is priced at 1/2 of
cost of first of a round trip for the first tow cities and 1/2 or cost
of a round trip for the second cities. That is most generally cheaper
than 2 one-way tickets, unless you are flying on two different low
cast carriers.

Hope this helps
Michael

If you are going to Seqouia, or ANY of the national parks, you
HAVE to have a car to get there. There is NO public transport
to ANY of the national parks in America.
