Default Getting Around Australia

Look, this assertion may be fine for the person who made it, given his
particular needs and objectives, and generally true for Australia. But
as an absolute assertion, it's insane (as anyone who's ever spent any
time in a European country, e.g. Germany) has to know.

In countries fortunate to have a good rail and public transit
infrastructure (again, e.g. Germany; but unfortunately not the US) rail
travel at almost any distance is every bit as fast as automobile travel
(not to mention being essentially as fast as air travel at most
distances, when all the air travel overhead is factored in).

And the real payoff of rail travel relative to auto or air travel
(outside of safety, which is a major benefit, and reduced stress, which
is also non-trivial) is that most of the time involved is in fact not
lost to just making the journey: on good trains you can work (laptop
power at most seats, work tables at many seats) or just relax and read;
have a good meal; sleep; sightsee; or even overnight comfortably on the
longer journeys.

Certain laws DO NOT APPLY to those that do NOT live in America.
I DO run an online radio station out of Australia. I have covered the
occasional figure skating, or other sports events, in Cuba. Becuase
I LIVE in Australia, and use an AUSTRALIAN passport, when
travelling to Cuba, the restrictions on travel DO NOT APPLY
to ME.

Got it? Good

X-No-Archive: Yes

Here is another one for you. I just chatted with one woman who
married a British Citizen, immigrated to the U.K., and now has
U.S./U.K. dual natioanlity, and she holidays in Cuba. She TOLD
me that becuase she LIVES in BRITAIN, that the ban on travel
to Cuba DOES NOT APPLY to her. She travels to Cuba, on
holiday, with her British husband, and is NOT SUBJECT to
the ban on travel to Cuba, as long as she uses her BRITISH
passport, and she has TOLD me so.

As a resident of Britain, she is ONLY subject to BRITISH
laws, and American laws DO NOT APPLY to her, though
she is a USA/Britain dual national.
