Well, the encryption software itself is housed on the sever, located
OUTSIDE of China. It is comptable with the Windows VPN
client. Since the actual VPN software, itself, is on a server located
OUTSIDE of China, it is NOT SUBJECT to ANY Chinese
laws. I just merely connect with any VPN client software.
The VPN client built into Winodws XP will interface with the
VPN software on my server. The Windows VPN client
is STANDARD on ALL Windows XP Professional installations,
even those sold in China. I just merely access my VPN with
the standard Windows VPN client, and my server elsewhere
takes care of the rest. Since the VPN client, itself, is LEGAL
in China, and the actual VPN server is located OUTSIDE
of China, I am NOT breaking ANY Chinese laws.
And, consider this, there are a LOT of busines travellers in China,
who MUST connect to the home office with VPN, becuase their
employers REQUIRE it, so the Chinese government would not
DARE outlaw VPN, becuase if they did, they would lose a LOT
of money from foreign investors who would no longer invest
in China, if they coiuld not access their their office networks.
