Continental booking - why hasn't my debit card been charged?

Hi all,

I made a reservation with Continental last week from Newark to Narita
and paid via my debit card. Got the e-mail with the e-ticket and
everything seems fine.

However, on reviewing my checking account I noticed that Continental
has not yet taken out the money for the ticket cost. Is this normal?
Do they wait a few weeks? I didn't find anything on their website
about it.

It all depends on your departure date.
*Some*airlines wont charge you until you are within 60 days of your
departure.
You still have a reservation, but your credit card wont be charged,
and you will not be actually ticketed untill u are within 60 days, or
so, of departure.

Yeah...its weird. I'm traveling June 4th. Continental says I'm e-
ticketed and everything. I even selected my seats for both going and
coming back.
