Default Positive view on US Airways

Usually one always hears about airline complaints.

Yesterday, I have had a very pleasant experience on the phone with US
Air. Due to an illness in family becoming a death in the family, travel
plans had to be changed, and the guy on the phone worked VERY HARD to
find an ffordable way to make a last minute change. (We are talking
about him calling back an hour later and still working hard to find any
option on varous star alliance airlines).

In these days of no-frills carriers and legacy carriers trying to
out-nofrill the nofrill airlines, it was quite refreshing to see staff
still able to really help in such difficult times. This person was based
in Pheoneix, so I assume he may have been from America West.

Default Positive view on US Airways

Just to add my own two cents worth of praise for US Airways, last year I flew with them from SFO-LAS and back again 5 days later.
Our suitcases were weighted up to the international limits of 70lbs rather than the US domestic limit of 50lbs (which we weren't
aware of being from UK but should have been!).

US Airways brought this to our attention but did not charge us any excess baggage fee for either flight.
Both flights were on time and check-in was straightforward and painless. The ground staff and flight staff were very courteous and
seemed to be genuinely focused on customer satisfaction.
I would fly US Airways again without any hesitation.
