No, I just assumed you knew long-haul flights aren't more dangerous than
short hops. Fatal accidents are clustered around take-off and landing, so
fatalities per flight is the appropriate measurement.

I suspect the fatalities per mile for motorcycles is substantially
higher than that of planes, even if flown by a Chinese airline.

But the odds of dying from an airplane accident are far greater if you
are seated in an aircraft versus being seated on a motorcycle. So there
you go ;-)

Southwest did kill some folks in a car when one of its jet overshoot a
runway (Chicago ?) a couple years ago. But they didn't kill anyone when
one of their jets proceeded beyond the end of runway, crossed a burbank
boulevard without waiting for the green light and stopped at the gas
station on the other side of the boulevard.

Still waiting for the the stats to back up that claim.
