Default 14 hour flight

The problem with entertainment is that you're not sleeping and will
have problems after arrival. Although I sleep poorly on airplanes,
just by closing your eyes and ignoring meals and everything else you
will probably doze off from sheer boredom. The best thing is if the
plane is only partially full and everyone has 2-5 seats to stretch out
on, then the whole plane can be asleep on such long flights. I've had
a few long flights that were a pleasure because of drinking and talking
with interesting fellow passengers, but I'll take sleep every time if
possible.

library books are the cheapest, easiest, and best personal
entertainment devices ever invented.

better yet by some old novels at the thrift store, and just leave them
for others as you travel!

When I lived in Saudi Arabia I would never take a library book with me
on vacation as when returning, they could be subject to seizure at
customs. I agree about the use of libraries and it is really a shame
not to see then used more. However, reading books on planes tends to
give me a headache.
