Default Charter flight booking with PNR/Record locator?

Hi there,

I wonder if one usually gets a PNR or Record Locator booking reference
when booking a charter flight. I used to get those when booking a
"normal", non-charter flight and always found it quite convenient to
re-check the whole thing with checkmytrip.com. Got my booking documents
(Amadeus) by now and couldn't find any of those numbers.

Thanks
Paul

Your reference to Amadeus and a charter flight in the same paragraph
confuses me. The two don't normally go together. I wouldn't expect a
charter to have a record locator but if you booked via Amadeus I wouldn't
expect the flight to be a charter.

What airline are you travelling on, between which 2 points and which travel
agent and/or tour operator and/or airline did you book via?

Well, as my booking documents carry the Amadeus header and logo I'd
guess that they are involved. Airline is Condor, operator appears to be
Thomas Cook, travel agency is "Lufthansa City Center".

In other words, there should be a Record Locator connected to my
booking?

Cheers

It is possible to store bookings in a GDS (like Amadeus) that haven't been
booked through the GDS. So, if Amadeus was used for this purpose and then
printed your documents that *might* explain why their logo is involved. As
Ulf says, Condor do fly some scheduled flights but they also fly charters.
If yours is a charter I doubt that Amadeus has been used as anything more
than a filing system and that may explain why there is no locator or access
via checkmytrip.

Try asking the agency for the locator, then put it into checkmytrip and see
what you get.

Travel agent responds there's no way (yet) to have a record locator
connected to a charter flight booking ...
