Seriously folks.....do you think the striking NWA mechanics will ever
get their jobs back? Alot of them have families and it's damn hard to
watch them picketing when we don't know what the outcome will be. Any
opinions? Thanks, Jim

In all likelihood, not anytime soon. There have been cases where
long-time strikers have eventually been allowed to reapply for open
positions or given their jobs back. But given NWA's precarious
financial position, they don't really have any incentive to do it at
this point.

It is a bad situation, but it's one of those things you have to keep
in mind before you strike.

My own thoughts is that they are already history. NWA has enough scabs to
make it through their current stay in bankruptcy court and out again, so if
I was a former (and now striking) mechanic, I'd be looking for a new job.
