Interesting theory. Too bad it's preposterous.

Okay, so the fuel vaporizes. This means it doesn't go anywhere? What,
it stays up in the sky, a motionless, fluffy little ball of airplane
fuel?

This would suggest that rain never reaches the ground where you live.

Ummm...nothing reaches the ground where Miguel lives.

It's called Fantasyland.

Do you suffer from cretinism ?

What do you think happens to any vapor in the air. It simply disperses
naturally, gets blown away by the wind etc etc.

Have you ever seen what happens to the smoke from a fire ?

Graham

And there was a Trans American flight on DC8 or 707 (the one that makes
propellor noises even though it is a jet) where, knowing they were
without pilots and everyone sick due to bad food (including the
basketball player who was also first officer on that flight), decided to
start showing movies, and the one they showed was a documentary of a
NASA experiment where they purposefully crash landed a plane to study
how fuel explodes/burns.

Interestingly, this plane was undamaged, but during landing, because the
"pilot" (who was really just an actor) applied the brakes too hard, the
nosewheel collapsed. Perhaps it is this clip which CNN should have shown
prior to the real A320 landing.

I know what "disperse" means. I was taking exception to the idea that
dumped jet fuel "vapourises," and "doesn't go anywhere." It disperses:
it doesn't DISAPPEAR.

Why, are you looking for companionship?

Duh !

The passengers payed for a 5 hour flight. Jetblue had to fly them for at
least 3 hours otherwise the passengers wouldn't have felt they had
gotten their money's worth. Jetblue promises in-seat TV, and they got
in-seat TV. Turning off the TVs prematurely would have resulted in
passengers complaining to the airline and demanding compensation.

It's bad enough jetblue only carried them to a different area of LA
instead of to New York. The airline had to endeavour to give the pax as
much as possible. :-) :-) :-)

Seriously, does anyone know what happened to the passengers after the
flight ? Did Jetblue put them up on another airline ? Did Jetblue fly
one of its aircraft to LAX to carry the pax to New York ? Did Jetblue
put them up in hotel with paid meals etc etc ?

I ask this in the context of JetBlue being an LCC. If it had been
Ryannair, the passengers would probably have had to pay extra to ride
the bus from the damaged aircraft to the airport. I suspect JetBlue
didn't have any problems opening its checkbook to lodge/feed the
passengers. But any confirmation of this ?
