What a load of bull.

Oh, that's the goal of my travels, minimalism.

Ooooo yeah. That's what I wanna do on my vacation. I wanna "just
get through". Not, to strive to excel, just hope to slip by don't ya
know.

Most travel sizes are anything but "inexpensive".

Because of course I know everything that I'll need to know before
I go. I mean, travel plans never change and surprises never arise on
a vacation.

Yeah, ya know the prices for these things in tourist areas are always
so low too. And a roll of film takes up SOOOOO much room that you
should
pay a 50% price increase instead of just taking an extra roll.

I'm not suppose to pack an extra roll of film, and I'm suppose
to only bring photocopies of a travel tool like a guide book. But I'm
suppose to be prepared, in advance, for "emergency laundering". Man,
if there was something that could be purchased enroute, it'd be some
laundry detergent.

5 paragraphs of relatively meaningless tips on packing and none
of them mention the most effective packing technique I've ever
discovered. Zip lock bags. From small sandwich size for
some items all the way up to 3 gallon bags for shirts, they keep
things organized, clean, and prevent wrinkles better than anything
I've ever seen. And you can "dig down" for something without
messing up everything above.
Here is the most sensible packing tip I've ever come up with.
Pick two bags. One you can carry over a shoulder or on your back,
and one roll around. You should be able to lift both of them
over your head when full. Now, fill 'em up. Once yer full, yer
done. Not full? Use a smaller bag, or at least make sure
you haven't forgotten anything. Now, HAVE SOME ' FUN.
It's vacation, not a packing contest. |
