Default Stolen camera from checked in baggage

Expensive lesson to learn. I did too in February going to St. Croix,
USVI and found my Nikon 5700 stolen in a checked bag. This is after
putting it in checked luggage well over two years travelling without
even thinking about the risk.

Looking at it from a brighter side, not everyone is a crook.

omg, how ironic....... right as I was reading this and listening to
Headline News, HN aired a story on how 13 baggage handlers who worked
for a company called Aero Ground were arrested in San Francisco for
stealing items intended for our troops in Japan ("computers, cameras
and other goods").....and then they showed both Air New Zealand and
UNITED planes.

On the bright side, just think of this way, no one decided to put drugs
and/or firearms into your bag.

As for unlocked checked-in baggages.

Well... Maybe using a T.S.A. approved lock or a lock that the T.S.A.
can open easily would be better than to let it unlock.

Then again, if T.S.A. can't unlock your baggage, they might break it
open and/or refuse it to board the airplane.

As for the camera.

Is it possible that T.S.A might be the one that. confiscated your
camera?

I mean that they and their foreign counterparts have stolen... er, I
mean confiscated a lot of precious items from passengers, like a gift
scissor from a loved one and so on.

As for not leaving precious items in the checked-in baggage.

That's right. No passport, cash, credit cards, identification papers,
and so on.

Of course you can travel with valuables in your baggage, just don't
expect the airline to compensate you for anything that you claim has
gone missing.

In article <42722359.15364669@nntp.dsl.pipex.com>, KGB says...
> The mind boggles though at the expression on the passengers face when
> he arrived home and found a lump of plastic explosive in his
> suitcase!!!

Mmm. Dinner. whack it on the stove.
