If you've ever seen the slaughter of chickens, it's certainly crueler than
shotgunning duck, geese or turkey. As for beef, pork and lamb, better you
shouldn't know. Worst of all are the poor fish, suffocated slowly in a
barrel of ice. What must an oyster feel, day's a'dying?
Shucks, the old .30 WinMag's a blessing in comparison.

The hunters just want to kill living things.
They don't need to hunt to get food.
They don't even hunt in a sporting manner.
They use dogs to tree bears and shoot them in the trees.
I wonder if they eat the bear meat.

Actually bear meat is very tasty - I had some in Helsinki once.

Actually, these days, commercially (is that enough qualifiers ;-)
beef, pork, and lamb is mercifully simple. A thick, long rod straight
through the brain at high speed. The animal is dead before they
know anything hit them. Now in the OLDEN days.....
