Default Paris CDG Distance Between Terminals

Will be flying next month through CDG arriving at 2E and departing
from 2B. The layover is about an hour and a half between the
connecting flights...

- What is the walking distance (time and distance) between the 2
terminals?

- Does one have to take the bus or one can simply walk?

- Are there more security checkpoints if you walk vs. just take the
bus?

Thanks,

Terminal 2 is pretty large. To the best of my knowledge (I've been through it
10+ times) there is no possibility to walk between particular areas, unless
you decide to go through a passport control. A bus is thus the only way.

Area 2B does not have a security checkpoint upon entering it.
You go through security in 2B when entering the particular gate.

1 1/2 hour should be enough for a typical transfer. But don't bet on
your checked luggage making it.

Quite to the contrary, since Hungary is _not_ part of Schengen, you
will _not_ have to go through immigration at CDG, unless you choose
to do so yourself. Mind you, 1 1/2 hours is not sufficient time to
do sightseeing at CDG. I once had 4 hours to kill at Terminal 2 and
decided to visit all its areas, A to F (E was not open yet). It took
me good 2 hours to do so. The bus connections are quite bad, with
occasionally 20-minute waiting time between busses, and busses
often overcrowded.
