Hi Richard and Barbara
You may have made your plans by now but you need to consider the
amount of time you will be transferring between Botswana and South
Africa. As you will probably fly from where you live to Jo'burg then
connect to Hoedspruit (2 hours including pre-flight waiting) and
vehicle transfer to Lion Sands (1 hr) plus the same coming back =
total 6 hours. You will probably have to overnight near the airport
as Air Botswana flights leave at inconvenient times (10 hours). Air
transfer times in Botswana to the camps are better - around 30 to 45
minutes. Total including waiting time about 4 hours each way. Total
connecting time on safari about 24 hours!
Keep it simple and do Botswana properly, or the Kruger, but avoid
doing both unless you have time to burn!
