| | Guest | Morocco Tours My wife and I want to visit Morocco next year. Because of what we have
heard about the difficulty of independent travel (touts, the language
....) we would like to go on a tour. We don't desire or want expensive
hotels and meals but tenting in a sandstorm is not my idea of fun
either. Can anyone recommend a tour provider?
Thanks

Morocco isn't in Europe, of course. Try asking in .africa.

Actually I tried .Africa first but there isn't a lot of
traffic there. Also many people begin trips to Morocco from Europe.
If you read Paul Theroux's book Dark Star Safari He starts in Egypt
where the people he is with keep saying they should go to Africa some
day.

We used Oussaden Tours a few years ago, and they provided a lot for the
money. Our unfortunate experience was a bummer of a guide, but we'd read a
lot from others who had better experiences.
Our guide forced us into tangine restaurants for 15 lunches, and they were
dumpy joints that charged more than far better restaurants. We started
eating street food after about three days. He ended tours early and failed
to deliver on promises, but I learned that he was canned after every single
person (9) on our tour wrote to complain. I'm reasonably certain that he
wasn't typical of their guides, who I suspect are contractors.
You'll get by fine in Morocco with workable French, and English isn't
uncommon. It's a remarkable country, and I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

| | Guest | Morocco Tours Try Adventures Abroad as I travelled with them twice, going on a third trip
next week. It is good value for the money and the tour leaders are
excellent. I have no complaints. They are honest and reliable. Moreover,
all is included, even the tips, with the exception of the tip to the Tour
Leader. They also have a policy of not stirring you to shops and they do
not deal with local guides who do that. The company's head office is in
Canada, but they have also addresses in the U.S. and Britain.
