the higher region are colder. I spent a December in Pai (80 km far of
ChiangMai but higher). In the early night it's still okay, coldest was in
the morning. 5 to 6 am we had 10ºC and folks told me about colder. If your
host equip you well with blankets (bamboo huts are common up there) and
sleep to 10 in the morning you not realized unpleasant temperatures.
btw. I always take a towel or pull over with me in asia. It's quickly
applied on my neck when entering a building, vehicle or drafty train to
avoid the climashock and sudden ill. Air con, if exists, running on the
maximum. ALLWAYS.
