Photo Gallery Uploads We very much welcome you to upload photos of places you have visited or your local area which may be of interest to tourists visiting where you live. We plan to feature them in our online photo gallery and other appropriate areas around TRAVEL.com such as our main page and relevant local destination pages. We are fairly flexible at this early stage regarding the quality of pictures. Obviously, typical travelers are not professional photographers. Most of our pictures fall into the "snapshot" category. So please do not be overly hesitant in uploading pictures. However, please upload what you consider your best quality pictures. All photos will first be scanned by our staff before they are approved to be seen online. In time, we will also turn on the ability of our software for users to rate pictures. Already, you may leave comments on pictures. These comments may in fact be a mini-review of the cruise ship, sightseeing spot, etc. Or, you might want to leave extra information about the site and your experiences.
IMPORTANT: Microsoft Internet Explorer does not always function correctly with uploads. If possible, we suggest using Netscape or Firefox currently for photo uploads. We hope to improve this in the future. In time, we will develop more criteria regarding the types of photos that will be displayed. But, for now, let's start with a few guidelines: Photos should ultimately be interesting to users of our system and travel/sightseeing related. Photos may not include any nudity or sexual content (swim attire is OK). Photos must be appropriate to be viewed by all ages including children. Do not upload any images with overlayed writing such as dates, copyright, advertising, etc. Do not upload any copyright protected images. By uploading photos, you avow that there is no copyright on the images. By uploading your photos, you agree that TRAVEL.com may freely display them on our site. TRAVEL.com will have the final say as to which pictures are or are not displayed online. TRAVEL.com may delete any photo uploaded at any time, so please make sure you keep your own backup. If you know how to do so, please rotate your image so that it displays properly -- either in landscape or portrait mode. However, if the image needs rotation, our staff will do so before placing it online. We will probably add and clarify the above guidelines as time goes by. But we look forward to you sharing your experiences online (as we will do, too!). Thank you. -- Rik
