Ditto: only a fool travels without information and knowledge. Think of
arming yourself to the teeth with knowledge. Think of buying a small
palm pilot type device and downloading books in pdf to it. Also, upload
the information to a multi-gig email site so its accessible if your palm
device gets stolen. Locals rarely know the best deals you want - this
may seem odd until you realize they don't often need what a travel may
need. I've spent several months in Mexico and rarely do people there
know the best deals for things in the area. Hispanics are not
especially vigourous shoppers generally. It ain't no Hong Kong, that's
for sure.
