Overnight train without a bedroom We are rethinking our early autumn vacation in the face of increasing
gas prices. As we have eight people in our family, we originally
planned
to drive the 2,300-mile round trip, but we are now seriously
considering
either flying or taking the train.
Booking bedrooms on the train is not within our budget -- certainly it
would not be cheaper than driving. Before we rule out the train we are
curious if taking six children age 2-13 on a 35-hour train ride
without
sleeping accomodations is feasible, or more akin to surgery without
anesthesia.
Has anyone had experience taking children on an overnight train
without
bedrooms?
Thanks,
