Default Signalling Problems in Leicester Area - again?!

It seems like almost everyday trains are delayed or cancelled somewhere
along the MML.
Over the last few weeks there must have been four or five times where I've
seen 'signalling problems' somewhere between Nottingham & Bedford. Last
Friday the whole line to Nottingham closed due to 'major signalling failure'
and now again today there are 60 min delays due to signalling problems in
Leicester area. The other week it was Loughborough that had the signalling
problems - once again 50-70 min delays.

What's going on? The frequency of problems suggest that something is very
wrong in the area or is it just gypos stealing cables again?

I'm going to Europe by Eurostar on Thursday and am worried I'll miss it if
these frequent problems flare up again.
Incidentally, if a domestic train is late/cancelled do you have any come
back on E*? Can you take a later train or are you forced to buy a new
ticket?
