Anyone Use Dining Plan Recently? Let's take a look at Chef Mickeys
Current price is $30A $15C (plus Holiday pricing as approp.)
Figure conservatively in 1 hr a waiter will have 3 4tops and 2 2tops total.
We'll figure all 4tops as 2A & 2C.
That's 10 adult and 6 children meals per hour.
10x30=300
6x15=90
Total is $390.00 before tax and not including any specialty or alcoholic
drinks which are extra.
10% tip is $39.00
15% tip is $58.50
18% tip is $70.20
20% tip is $78.00
Plus the small wage that Disney pays.
Those hourly tip figures are really large even considering that waiters
quite often have to do an hour or two of cleanup every shift.
Mickey's serves from 5:00-9:30 with the last people probably leaving at
10-10:30.
Even with just serving 4.5 hours and a cleanup of two hours at 10% tip gives
a waiter an average hourly wage of $27.00
I definitely think $27.00 per hour to be a glorified busboy is PLENTY never
mind tipping at 18% which would be $48.60/hr.
And then we have guests which like to splurge and leave 25%, for what reason
I don't know, if everyone did that the average would be $73.13/hr including
cleanup.
Start running these figures at table service restaurants where 2 adults can
easily run up a bill of $100+ and see what happens.
These people are being paid REALLY well even at low tip percentages.
I tip 10-15%. Typical 10% buffets and 15% table service for good "expected"
service. If the waiter is lousy tip goes down, if waiter is excellent I'll
tip more.
My 2 cents, errr....$2.00,
