Just flying over to do the crossing? Very cool.

I was very grateful to talk to the crew on an earlier trip on the QE2
who mentioned that pax tend to get progressively grumpier on Eastbound
crossings - but passengers and crew love Westbound so when we planned
for a crossing a couple of years later, we knew how to do it. ...and
it seems most people planning to travel to Europe and cross one way
and flying the other tend to envision taking the ship over and flying
back. (I suspect we think of all those old movies with the streamers
to friends on the docks.)
