Hey, Patty!
We do the same thing all summer! I even tip the bottle at an angle when
freezing so that it's not one solid lump at the bottom of the bottle. When
at WDW, I bring a bottle with an insulated cover and strap for each of us,
that way it's easier to carry around all day. Also, you can ask at ANY
counter service throughout all the parks, and they will gladly give you cups
of ice. The cubes are small enough to fit into the tops of the bottles. We
then refill the water from the fountains, and we have cold water all day!
Last trip we didn't bring those bottles, but I packed bottle straps that I
got from AllEars.net years ago, they fit onto any water bottle, and we did
the same thing with the ice and fountain water buying just one bottle for
each of us on that trip.
