Default For Marc Lurie...

I just contacted AA Metrocab. They are the most professional bunch, with
well appointed and well maintained vehicles. The drivers are properly
screened too. They will charge R420 for 4 passengers from OR Tambo Int'l to
Honeydew before 9pm, and R510 after 9pm. The vehicle will be an Opel Zafira
minivan. All the stories I've heard about AA Metrocab have been positive,
although I've never used them myself.

If AA Metrocab is charging R420 for their minivan, then you should be able
to find cheaper somewhere else.

NEVER use the taxi touts who hang out at the airport. They're a bunch of
criminals with unroadworthy vehicles. There's a chance that they'll inform
their friends if you're carrying expensive luggage, and be "hijacked". My
life has been threatened after I tried to get some touts removed from the
airport building. There is a legal taxi company operating from the airport,
but they are not allowed to tout for business at all. I once overheard a
tout telling an international visitor that the normal cost of a trip to
Sandton was R1000, but he'd take the visitor for only R600. I interupted and
told the visitor that the tout was illegal and I showed him to a legal taxi
where he was quoted R270.

I'll try to find some more info tomorrow.
